Spray on paper is not Amin Fattahi’s latest approach, however, in this collection abstract forms are replaced with real objects and spaces. Regarding the point that the word “photo” increasingly refers to photography rather than light, “Photogenic” suggests the photographical implications of these works, while, by no means, should its common meaning be ignored: one who is always flattered in photographs, and so, is more likely to be captured. Now it is the painting, through an unwieldy tool such as spray, that makes the decision on what to be recorded and how.
